 Sporting Event Accomplishments
On February 15th, 2002; Ukraine issued two (2) stamps commemorating its recent sporting achievements
The first stamp shows Zhanna Pintusevich-Block winning the gold medal in the women's 100 metres 2001 World Track and Field Championships, Edmonton, CANADA.
The second stamp shows a swimmer at the XXVII Summer Olympic Games (2000) - Sydney, Australia. Ukraine won 2 gold and 2 silver medals in aquatics. In total it won for the games, 3 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze medals.
A pictorial cancellation was used for the First Day of Issue cover. Cancellation was done in Kyiv.
