 Black Sea Nature Reserve
On July 13th, 2002; Ukraine issued a souvenir sheet with five (5) stamps showing the diversity of birds and flora found along the coastal shores of the Black Sea.
The issue is comprised of five (5) perforated stamps, each depicting a scene. The overall composition is the use of stamps to present a collage of a coastline.
- The first stamp shows an Oystercatcher (Haematopus ostralegus).
- The second stamp shows the Slender-billed Gull (Larus genei).
- The third stamp shows Dwarf iris (Iris pumila).
- The fourth stamp shows the Curlew (Numenius arquata).
- The fifth stamp shows the Snowy Plover (Ñharadrius alexandrinus).
A pictorial cancellation was used for the First Day of Issue cover. Cancellation was done in Kyiv.
