The Ukrainian Philatelic and Numismatic Society (UPNS) is the official sponsor of the prestigious Heorhiy Narbut Prize for "Best Ukrainian Stamp Design." Established in 1992 by Dr. Ingert Kuzych, this annual award recognizes the artist(s) responsible for the outstanding stamp (or stamp set) of the previous year.
The Heorhiy Narbut Prize honors Ukraine's outstanding graphic artist of the early twentieth century. Mr. Narbut prepared the three high-value currency-stamps of 1918 (30, 40, and 50 shahiv), the designs of which were subsequently used in Ukraine's first postage stamp issue. He also designed about a dozen of Ukraine's first banknotes.
Please visit the UPNS site and view the past winners of this prestigious philatelic award.
